Last Saturday we woke up to find "Afro" had died in her sleep. She was our "special needs" duck. Born with a mild duck CP, she listed to one side, and often fell dozens of times on her way to her favorite place-- our pool. She also had growths on her feet that made hard surfaces difficult to maneuver. Afro did live much longer than anyone expected.
Bob and I will miss her poofy afro, and her unbridled determination which surpassed her abilities.
Animals do teach us to love.
