Sam and Sam2 returned to the parade this year.  Of course everyone was so happy to see her, and her twin sister.  I'll post more photos of the parade tomorrow.

Day 328 Little Devil

While visiting Denver a few months ago, my son and fiance took several photos of Sam dressed in various garb.  My son put the flashlight in Sam's ribcage, so it would show through the cape.

Day 318 Sam 2 Travels Home

Day 318

I couldn't leave Sam 2 behind.  I had many suggestions on how to end my relationship with her...but none would do.  Shipping her would be over 300 euros, so on the plane she went.  I had her shrink wrapped at the airport because he box was not too sturdy. 
We flew through Salt Lake City on our way home.  The TSA did their usual inept security screening of a plastic skeleton.  This held her up, and she did not make the plane to Albuquerque.  Delta found her the next day, and she arrived 24 hours after we did. 
If you are reading every day, here is this 2nd identical skeleton's plot line.  They were twins separated at birth, and now reunited.  She will need a name, and a stand. I left the cast iron one behind for weight reasons. So for now, she can only sit.
As I head down the final stretch of this 365 project many great things are happening.   Costco published a picture in their October magazine.  As photos are published, I will let you know.

Day 314 Eight Days in Paris

Those of you who have been to Paris know how insane driving around the Arc de Triomphe can be.  The Champs Elysees is the super highway cramped into a six lane road with stoplights, tourists, city buses, tour buses, trucks, and a sprinkle of road rage. 
I had to stand on the island with the stop light as vehicles sped by us to get this shot.  I could feel a breeze from every one of them.  They shook Sam's bones. This was probably the most dangerous shot I have taken during this project.

Day 289 Cranial Skeleton Surgery

Poor Sam.  The TSA took her skull apart when we went to Denver, and now it won't line up.  Having a horizontal line through the top of her head will never do!  She's on the dinning room table, and Bob and I will try and fix her.  The top seems to be a different shape than the bottom.  How this could happen to molded plastic, I don't know.  Keep your bony fingers crossed!

A public art installation by Robert Wilson: "Flyway." This sculpture is on Coors Blvd. and changes as the sun does.  I would love to go back at sunset to see the difference.

Day 273 Sam Meets The Water Jet Cutters

Sam was warmly welcomed by our water jet cutting team in Albuquerque.  Michael, and TJ had their shot list all ready. Here she stands at the controls.  I love the eerie lighting produced by the sodium lights above.

She had to wear protective ear muffs. Proud to have a shirt with their logo. She almost felt like one of the boys.

TJ gives Sam a little squeeze in front of some Rhino Board that they sell for water jet cutters.  It's an amazingly strong material that sits under the material they are cutting.  It is a honeycomb, and water falls through it.

Sam loooooved driving the fork lift. Michael and TJ even machined a rod that fits in her stand so she can sit.  They are amazing machinists.  If you need water jet cutting done, here's their website:
