Day of the Dead Parade 2015

Our "skeleton crew"...all steampunked out.

Again, the South Valley held their annual Muertos and Marigold Parade. Thousands of people came this year-the biggest crowd ever. We decorated my VW with paper flowers, and skeletons on the spoiler that Bob so wonderfully engineered. Weather perfect, it was a great day. This year our theme was Steampunk.

Bob rode in the car with me and had his skeleton dog hanging over the door. He holds it from the back, so from the parade views eye line you can't see his hand making the dog dance to the loud Latin music coming from our car.  Charlie Z walked and handed out candy in his top hat and tails.

I call these two silver an gold painted skellies: Sterling and Goldie Feinstein.

Sharon, one of my "Skull Sisters" was a welcome addition this year.

Hours of costume making goes into this. But it's all worth it when I see the pictures later. Next year's theme is already cooking in my creative mind.  We are running away with the circus!

Day 253 Spanish Market, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Day 253
As I do every year I am in town...I go Spanish Market in Santa Fe.  What makes me get up at 4am, coffee laden,  drive up to Santa Fe?  Why so early?  Because I have been buying skeleton art there for years. In the contemporary section, there are many fine artists whose subject matter is skeletons and skull.
Sam in tow we drove with our friend Daniel as the sun rose over the mountains on our right, and the flat topped mesas on our left.  At 7AM the crowds have not massed.

I swear on my life, that I never met this man, I had nothing to do with his t-shirt.  He sat down when I was posing Sam at the look out viewers on Navy Pier.  When I backed up (haha) he was sitting there.

Day 205 Sam Not Allowed In Wrigley Field, Cubs Lose

Although Sam made tons of new friends and posed for 100's of pictures outside Wrigley Field.  Security was waiting for us at the turnstile at the gate.  She had a very expensive ticket for her own seats 15 rows from the first base line.  Security gave a lame excuse, and she was checked with Guest Services.  Waaaaah!   And the Cubs lost.

This was taken with my new Fugi point and shoot, as my giant lens broke.  Thanks Bob.
